About Glenbawn
Glenbawn is a locality in the Upper Hunter region, about 14 kilometres east of Scone on the Hunter River. It is best known for the Glenbawn Dam, a major earth and rock fill embankment completed in 1957 that supplies irrigation water, hydro-electric power and flood mitigation for the Hunter Valley, and creates Lake Glenbawn for water sports and fishing.
