About Pilliga
Pilliga is a locality in the North West Plains of New South Wales, about 105 kilometres (65 mi) west of Narrabri, within the Walgett Shire local government area. It lies near the Pilliga forest, which supports a rich assortment of bird life and a significant timber harvesting industry. The village of Pilliga, in the eastern part of the locality, is home to artesian bore baths constructed in 1902 as a permanent town water supply after a severe drought.
