About Dubbo

Dubbo is a regional city in central-western New South Wales, 303 kilometres north-west of Sydney at the intersection of the Newell, Mitchell and Golden highways. The largest population centre in the Orana region, Dubbo is a major road and rail freight hub and home to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, the Old Dubbo Gaol and the Dubbo Regional Botanic Garden. Founded in 1849, the city was proclaimed in 1966.
