About Wooloweyah
Wooloweyah is a small coastal village in the Clarence Valley Council area on the north coast of New South Wales, about 5 km south of Yamba and 2 km west of Angourie. It takes its name from Lake Wooloweyah, an estuarine wetland on its shore; the Aboriginal name is said to mean big cedar trees. The lake supports an estimated 13 species of fish and two of shark, including the wobbegong, and the village's fishing and nature surroundings sit close to the famous Angourie surf break.
