About Windeyer (NSW)

Windeyer is a former goldmining town in the Mid-Western Regional Council area of New South Wales, about 20 km south of Mudgee, and has been described as nearly a ghost town. At its peak during the gold rushes of the 1850s it had 29 hotels and 10 schools; today it survives as a small rural hamlet with a hotel, general store, community hall, church and cemetery.
