About Uarbry
Uarbry is a small town in the Warrumbungle Shire of New South Wales, located about 48 kilometres east of Dunedoo on the Golden Highway. Mentioned as early as 1833 by Surveyor Robert Dixon, the village was almost completely destroyed by the Sir Ivan fire in February 2017, losing its church, community hall and all but two residences. The historic cemetery contains the Hobbins family headstones, hand-carved by Martin Hobbins after losing his wife and five children in 1877.
