About Toogong
Toogong is a small town in the Central West region of New South Wales, in the Cabonne Shire, on the old Cobb and Co stagecoach route between Orange and Forbes. The name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning "dried up lake". St Albans Anglican Church, built in 1872, is the oldest surviving church in the Canowindra district and is National Trust listed. The town was the birthplace of Hazelton Airlines, founded in 1953 and now Rex Airlines.
