About Raglan (NSW)
Raglan is a locality in the Bathurst Region of New South Wales, about 8 kilometres east of the city of Bathurst. It was named after FitzRoy Somerset, 1st Baron Raglan, a British Army officer who commanded British forces in the Crimean War and died in 1855. The village site was selected in 1856, and Raglan was the terminus of the Great Western railway line from 1873. Its former railway station is listed on the New South Wales State Heritage Register.
