About Porters Retreat

Porters Retreat is a remote high-country locality in the Blue Mountains hinterland of New South Wales, set amid open grazing land, pine plantations and remnant bushland on the Central Tablelands. Originally known as Glencoe, the settlement was renamed around 1908 and historically served as a police tracker station. Oberon, roughly 30 kilometres to the south-west, provides services and access to the Kanangra-Boyd National Park and the region's cool-climate trout fishing.
