About Parkes (NSW)
Parkes is a town in the Central West of New South Wales, 355 kilometres west of Sydney. Named after Sir Henry Parkes, the father of Australian federation, it is home to the CSIRO Parkes Observatory radio telescope and hosts an annual Elvis Festival each January.
