About Havilah (NSW)

Havilah is a bounded rural locality and grazing property about 13 km from Mudgee on the Lue Road, in the Central West of New South Wales. The station was first taken up in the 1850s and was named after the biblical land of Havilah after a visiting clergyman found specks of gold there. Havilah became famous for its fine merino sheep, and its homestead, built in 1872, is listed with the National Trust of New South Wales. The locality also has a limestone and carbonates quarry.
