About Guntawang

Guntawang is a rural locality near Mudgee in the Central West of New South Wales, on the Cudgegong River. The name is Aboriginal for meeting place, and the area was the site of the first land grant in the Gulgong district, taken up by Richard Rouse in 1828. By the 1880s Guntawang was a small township with a School of Arts, church and hotel.
