About Black Springs (NSW)

Black Springs is a village in the Oberon Shire of New South Wales, on the Great Dividing Range at an elevation of about 1,210 metres, 138 kilometres west of Sydney as the crow flies and midway between Oberon and Taralga. It is known for its fossicking, popular at Sapphire Bend off Riverview Road in Vulcan State Forest, and has an historic stone Catholic church, a shrine and an historic cemetery.
