About Aarons Pass
Aarons Pass is a rural locality in the Mid-Western Regional Council area of New South Wales' Central West, about 199 km from Sydney, in Wiradjuri country. It takes its name from Aaron's Pass, a mountain saddle named for Aaron, a Wiradjuri elder who guided explorer James Blackman through the area from Bathurst in the early 1800s. Cudgegong Creek, a tributary of the Cudgegong River, forms part of the locality's western boundary, and the Castlereagh Highway runs through its centre.
