About Wyndham (NSW)
Wyndham is a small village in the Bega Valley Shire of New South Wales, about 519 km south of Sydney in the state's South Coast region, on the traditional lands of the Yuin people. It grew on the route from Eden to the Kiandra goldfields, with the village site surveyed in 1856 and gold worked at nearby Honeysuckle Flat. The town developed from the 1880s with a school, hotels and churches, dairying became established in the district, and gold and silver were mined at Whipstick nearby into the early 20th century.
