About New Buildings

New Buildings is a locality in the Bega Valley Shire of New South Wales, where the Towamba Road crosses the Towamba River near its junction with Mataganah Creek. The settlement takes its name from the 50 acres that Benjamin Boyd purchased from the Crown in 1845, on which he built several buildings for resting cattle driven along his road towards the coast. A heritage-listed timber truss bridge carries the road over the river at New Buildings.
