About Mount Werong

Mount Werong is a sparsely settled locality in the remote southern Blue Mountains of New South Wales, south of Oberon on the unsealed Mount Werong Road. The rugged forest country on the traditional lands of the Gundungurra and Wiradjuri peoples lies within the southern section of Blue Mountains National Park, where the Mount Werong campground is a base for bushwalking, mountain biking and exploring the district's mining heritage. Ruby Creek mine and the historic mining town of Yerranderie lie nearby along the old Oberon Colong stock route.
