About Moruya
Moruya is a town on the far south coast of New South Wales, situated on the Moruya River on the Princes Highway, about 305 km south of Sydney. The town is known for its granite, quarried locally from the late 1850s and used to build major landmarks, including the pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the columns of the Sydney General Post Office and the base of the Captain Cook statue in Hyde Park. Agriculture, aquaculture and tourism are mainstays of the local economy.
