About Broadwater (Bega Valley - NSW)
Broadwater is a small rural locality in the Bega Valley Shire on the far south coast of New South Wales, just south of Merimbula on the shores of Pambula Lake, a broad estuary that gives the place its name. Fed by the Pambula and Yowaka rivers, the lake is one of the state's healthiest estuaries and has been farmed for oysters since the 1890s, with the modern industry centred on the oyster leases and processing sheds along Landing Road. The locality is roughly halfway between the towns of Pambula and Eden.
