About Boambolo
Boambolo is a quiet rural locality in the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, sitting on the Yass to Wee Jasper road about 15 kilometres south of Yass and 55 kilometres north-west of Canberra. The area is characterised by open pastoral landscapes and dryland farming, and takes its name from a rocky crossing of the Murrumbidgee River used by early settlers after Hamilton Hume's 1821 expedition.
