About Berridale
Berridale is a small town between Cooma and Jindabyne in the Snowy Monaro region of New South Wales, about 435 kilometres south of Sydney. Founded by Scottish settler William Oliver in the 1860s and named after his home town of Berriedale, it earned the nickname Crossroads of the Snowy as a stopover for gold miners. It was formerly the administrative centre of the Snowy River Shire.
