About Richardson

Richardson is a residential suburb in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, gazetted on 5 May 1975. Named after novelist Ethel Florence Lindesay Richardson, known by her pen name Henry Handel Richardson, the suburb's streets are named after writers, especially female writers. Located 21 kilometres south of the Canberra CBD, key features include Richardson Primary School, which was the first school in Australia to install Interactive Whiteboards, the heritage-listed Tuggeranong Homestead, and Richardson Oval.
