About Gilmore (ACT)
Gilmore is a residential suburb in the Tuggeranong district of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, gazetted on 5 August 1975 and developed from 1985. Named after poet and journalist Dame Mary Gilmore, the suburb's streets are named after journalists, particularly female journalists. Gilmore is bounded by the Monaro Highway, Isabella Drive and Hambidge Crescent. The heritage-listed Rose Cottage off Isabella Drive operates as a nursery and craft centre open to the public.
