About Duffy
Duffy is a suburb of Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory, in the district of Weston Creek about 14 km south-west of the city centre. Gazetted in 1970 and developed from 1971, it was named after Charles Gavan Duffy, a 19th-century Irish politician who became premier of Victoria, and its streets are named after Australian dams and reservoirs. Duffy lost more than 200 homes in the 2003 Canberra bushfires.
