About Bandiana
Bandiana is a suburb of Wodonga in north-eastern Victoria, dominated by the Australian Army logistics base that occupies much of the area. The name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word meaning hill. During World War II the site was developed as an ordnance depot and vehicle park, and the military presence has continued ever since; Gaza Ridge Barracks now houses the Army Museum Bandiana. The Wodonga-Cudgewa railway once serviced the base, and the Kiewa River lies to the east.
