About Gooloogong

Gooloogong is a village in central New South Wales, lying almost midway between Cowra and Forbes on the Lachlan Valley Way, close to the Lachlan River. Mostly in Cowra Shire, it grew from a pastoral run held by the Irish emancipist Edmond Sheahan and developed into a town after the Robertson Land Act of 1861 opened the district to freehold settlers.
