About Chullora
Chullora is an industrial suburb of Sydney about 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) west of the central business district, in the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, named for an Aboriginal word meaning 'flour'. The Chullora Railway Workshops, established in the 1920s, made the area a major manufacturing site during World War II, and today the suburb is almost entirely industrial and commercial, housing factories and warehouses such as the Tip Top bakery and printing plants for Sydney's newspapers.
