About Wyalkatchem

Wyalkatchem is a town in the central Wheatbelt of Western Australia, on the railway east of Dowerin about 192 kilometres north-east of Perth. The townsite was gazetted in 1911 after the railway opened, taking its name from a nearby waterhole recorded as Walkatching in the 1870s. The town's former wheat bins, built in 1936, now house the CBH Agricultural Museum, the district has won state tidy-town awards, and a gypsum mine operates nearby.
