About Throssell
Throssell is a small rural locality in Western Australia's Avon Valley, situated within the Shire of Northam approximately 96 kilometres east of Perth. The landscape of open farmland in the Central Wheatbelt takes its name from the Throssell family, prominent pioneers in the Northam district whose most notable member George Throssell served as the second Premier of Western Australia in 1901. The nearby market town of Northam, Western Australia's largest inland town, provides all essential services and is known for its heritage townscape and the annual Avon Descent white-water event.
