About South Datatine
South Datatine is a rural locality in the Shire of Katanning in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, about 33 kilometres north-east of Katanning. Farming families first settled the area in 1905 and the Datatine Hall, opened in 1913, served as a community hub for sport, school and social gatherings for decades before its demolition in the late 1990s.
