About Porongurup

Porongurup is a rural locality in the Shire of Plantagenet, gateway to the Porongurup National Park. The ancient granite range rises to 670 metres and supports karri forest across twelve peaks within the Southwest Biodiversity Hotspot, with the Granite Skywalk on Castle Rock a popular attraction. An emerging cool-climate wine region, the area also supports dairying and silviculture and is culturally significant to Noongar peoples.
