About Lake Deborah
Lake Deborah is a vast, remote rural locality in the Western Australian wheatbelt, around the large ephemeral salt lake of the same name about 350 kilometres east of Perth, near Westonia. The lake, named in 1861 by the explorer Barnard Clarkson after his sister Deborah, has been harvested for natural salt since the 1940s and was declared a Salt Harvest Sanctuary in 2012.
