About Gnowangerup

Gnowangerup is a small wheatbelt service town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, located approximately 355 kilometres south-east of Perth and 61 kilometres south-east of Katanning. The name derives from the Noongar word meaning place of the mallee fowl, and the town serves as a gateway to the Stirling Range National Park, which attracts an estimated 175,000 visitors annually. The surrounding shire supports over 100,000 hectares of farmland growing wheat, lupins, barley and canola alongside sheep and cattle grazing.
