About Burracoppin
Burracoppin is a townsite on the Great Eastern Highway, 25 kilometres east of Merredin in the Wheatbelt. Gazetted in 1891 and named after nearby Burracoppin Rock, an Aboriginal name meaning near a big hill, it served as the main depot for the first Rabbit Proof Fence begun in 1901. The town is a scheduled stop on Transwa's Prospector rail service.
