About Tjirrkarli
Tjirrkarli is a small remote Aboriginal community in the Shire of Ngaanyatjarraku in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, about 120 kilometres west of Warburton. It was established in the 1980s as an outstation near Lake Breaden, taking its name from a nearby Dreaming site associated with native yams. The community became incorporated and a member of the Ngaanyatjarra Council in 1987, and is served by a clinic, school and airstrip.
