About Salmon Gums
Salmon Gums is a small town and locality of the Shire of Esperance in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located 106 km north of Esperance on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway. Apart from the townsite of Salmon Gums, the townsite of Dowak and parts of the Ngadju Indigenous Protected Area are located within Salmon Gums. The name is derived from a prominent stretch of Eucalyptus salmonophloia (Salmon Gum) trees which formed a landmark in the town's early days.
