About Ravensthorpe

Ravensthorpe is a town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, 541 km south-east of Perth and 40 km inland from the south coast, and the seat of the Shire of Ravensthorpe. The surrounding country produces wheat and other cereal crops, and is the site of the Ravensthorpe Nickel Mine, one of Western Australia's major nickel operations. The nearby Fitzgerald River National Park, part of a UNESCO biosphere reserve, protects a remarkable concentration of native plant species.
