About Lake Carnegie
Lake Carnegie is a locality in the Shire of Wiluna in Western Australia's Goldfields, dominated by the great ephemeral Lake Carnegie, a playa roughly 100 km long and 30 km wide. Named for explorer David Carnegie, who crossed the region in the 1890s, the lake lies at the edge of the Little Sandy and Gibson deserts, with the surrounding land held as the Windidda and Prenti Downs pastoral leases.
