About Bunjil

Bunjil is a small wheatbelt town in Western Australia's Mid West region, on the Mullewa Wubin Road about 326 km north of Perth. It began in 1913 as a railway siding on the Wongan Hills to Mullewa line and was gazetted as a townsite the following year; its name is of Aboriginal origin but its meaning is unknown. Bunjil grew as a grain handling centre, with grain elevators installed in 1932 and a large bulk wheat silo erected in 1936, and it remains a wheat farming centre and grain receival site.
