About Bundanoon (WA)
Bundanoon is a rural locality in the Shire of Mingenew in Western Australia's Mid West, in wheatbelt country south-east of Mingenew, adjoining Yandanooka. It shares its name with the historic Bundanoon homestead of the Yandanooka pastoral estate, an early stopping place on the road from Perth to Geraldton where Thomas Whitfield took up the first lease in 1856. After the estate was resumed by the government, the land was subdivided and offered to soldier settlers after World War I, and the area has remained broad-acre wheat and sheep country.
