About Beadell

Beadell is a vast, remote locality in the Gibson Desert region of central Western Australia, covering desert and semi-arid country of spinifex grassland, mulga woodland and salt lakes. The locality is named after Len Beadell, the surveyor who built the Gunbarrel Highway and other outback roads across the region in the 1950s and 1960s, and it remains one of the state's most isolated areas, crossed by rough 4WD tracks.
