About Mitchell Plateau
Mitchell Plateau is a remote locality in the Kimberley region of far northern Western Australia, on the traditional land of the Wunambal people, who know it as Ngauwudu. It is best known for the Mitchell Falls and the scenery of the Mitchell River National Park, created in 2000. The plateau supports a distinctive flora and fauna, including fan palms, the monjon rock-wallaby and the black grasswren.
