About Gibson Desert North

Gibson Desert North is an extremely remote locality in Western Australia. The area is the traditional Country of the Pintupi people and was the setting for the 1984 encounter with the "Pintupi Nine", a family group living a traditional desert life entirely outside European contact. Access is by unsealed desert tracks or light aircraft only.
