About Brentwood (WA)
Brentwood is a compact residential suburb in the City of Melville, Perth, Western Australia, located approximately 10 kilometres from the Perth central business district. Named after Brentwood, an English town near London which was the birthplace of John Bateman, a pioneer settler in the area, the suburb was developed as a state housing area after World War II in the 1950s. The heritage-listed Grasmere homestead on Spinaway Crescent dates to the late nineteenth century. The suburb is only 1 square kilometre in area and is well served by bus routes along Leach Highway. The nearest railway station is Bull Creek, located 800 metres away.
