About Embleton
Embleton is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located 7 km northeast of the CBD within the City of Bayswater. Originally inhabited by the Mooro people of the Whadjuk Noongar nation, the area was settled in 1829 as part of the Swan River Colony. The suburb is named after the Embleton family, who were servants to early colonist John Whatley. Embleton lies on the Bassendean Dunes, part of the Swan Coastal Plain, and is bounded by Collier Road to the north, Tonkin Highway to the east, and Reid Highway to the south. Notable features include Bayswater Waves aquatic centre, which contains Western Australia's only wave pool.
