About Prevelly

Prevelly is a town on the coast of the South West region of Western Australia, at the mouth of the Margaret River about nine kilometres west of Margaret River township. It was subdivided in the early 1960s by Geoff Edwards, who named it after the Preveli monastery on Crete, where he was sheltered during the Second World War; a chapel built in thanks stands in the town. Prevelly is a noted surfing area and lies on the Cape to Cape Track.
