About Northcliffe
Northcliffe is a town in the lower South West of Western Australia, about 28 km south of Pemberton in the Shire of Manjimup. It was established in 1924 as a Group Settlement Scheme for British settlers and named after the newspaper magnate Lord Northcliffe, whose papers promoted the scheme. The first arrivals found their land still cloaked in thick jarrah and karri forest, and timber and dairying remain central to the district.
