About Harvey
Harvey is a town in the South West of Western Australia, on the South Western Highway 140 km south of Perth, between Pinjarra and Bunbury. It is known for its dairy industry and orange growing. The town takes its name from the nearby Harvey River, named in 1829 by Governor James Stirling, likely after Rear Admiral John Harvey. To the Noongar people the area is known as Korijekup, meaning place of the red-tailed black cockatoo.
