About Melville Forest
Melville Forest is a rural locality in the Southern Grampians Shire of western Victoria, about 30 kilometres east of Hamilton. The area lies on the productive pastoral plains of the Western District, where sheep grazing and cropping have been the main industries since the mid-nineteenth century. The heritage-listed Melville Forest Homestead, established around 1840, is a notable landmark.
