About Rushworth

Rushworth is a historic gold rush town in the Shire of Campaspe, Victoria, Australia, located 157 kilometres north of Melbourne. Established in 1853 during the gold rush, the town yielded approximately 5,000 kilograms of gold. It features one of Victoria's best-preserved heritage main streets, including the Criterion Hotel (1859) and St Paul's Church (1870). Adjacent to the Rushworth State Forest and Whroo Historic Reserve, it also offers recreation at Waranga Basin.
